Message from the President
Welcome to the 2009/2010 season of The National Bowling Association (TNBA), one of the greatest sports organizations in the world today. As you may be aware, TNBA is built upon the principles of Sportsmanship, Fellowship and Friendship. In addition to the love of the game of ten pins, we believe in giving back to our community and providing guidance and support to our greatest asset, our children. We support junior bowler programs and initiate TNBA sponsored junior programs that allow our junior bowlers to receive awards and participate in regional (and national) TNBA youth tournaments and Junior Council activities. Our scholarship program is alive and well and we are committed to assisting graduating high school seniors who are (or their parents/guardians are) members of TNBA. We offer book grants and monetary awards annually for those seniors looking to start off their college endeavors. Please submit your child or children’s names for consideration. For additional information you can contact our scholarship chairperson, Shirley Smith at (909) 985-9055. We have planned another great year this season. TNBA's Western Regional Tournament was held in Orange County this past November. We had our Battle of the Sexes tournament in December and have planned our City Tournament later this year. TNBA's Western Regional Rhodman Tournament will be in Las Vegas in March and TNBA’s National Convention and Tournament will be held on May 20-30, 2010 in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. We have our Tri-Senate Tournaments with San Diego and Los Angeles (and now Palmdale) held every December, April and August, or special Tri-Senate, Palmdale tournament in January and our brand new 1st Annual Tri-Senate "City of Lights" tournament to be held in Las Vegas Labor Day Weekend, September 3-5, 2010. We also have other fun tournaments such as Revenge of the Battle of the Sexes that are on the drawing board for the new season. If you roll a good game, be sure to submit your high score application as soon as possible. Because there is a short window in which to submit these applications, timing is of the utmost importance. One new rule that came about this year is that all high scores must be rolled in a TNBA Certified League or Tournament. Contact your league secretary to ensure it is TNBA certified or notify senate secretary Jan McDaniel at 909 945-3419 to see how easy it is to certify the league yourself. High score applications should be sent to a senate official. In most cases, a simple email to Jan is all it takes to get the ball rolling. Thanks for your support of TNBA. Tell a friend about us. Even if they are not bowlers, they may still join. We have several non-bowling members who help support our junior programs, participate in the administration and operation of our tournaments and just help our organization run smoother. Thanks again, we’ll see you on the lanes.
